The White Collar Team – WC Tribute Video (WC/A-Team remix)

As we all know, after six amazing seasons, the curtain has closed on our beloved White Collar. I’m forty years old and have loved many shows over the years, but this one is my absolute favorite, by far. It’s hard to put into words just how much I’m going to miss the show, the outstanding ensemble cast and crew, the cases and arcs and relationships – all of it. Plus, in addition to introducing me to Tim DeKay (who is a truly wonderful person), White Collar has also brought me some great fandom friends and inspired me to write and create again.

I wanted to come up with a way to honor the spirit of White Collar, and I thought a video would be the best way to go about it. I’m typically a writer – this is my first full-length fanvid – so it was more than a little daunting. I can only hope I’ve done it the justice it deserves.

I first came up with this particular idea back in October, as both a tribute to White Collar and a throwback to the great TV theme songs of the 1980s. As a kid, I was a theme song addict, and I found myself wondering what it would look like if White Collar had a full-length, 80s-style theme song. It seemed fitting to pair such an outstanding show with one of the most awesome theme songs to come out of the 80s – and the White Collar/A-Team remix was born!

This was definitely a collaborative effort, and I’m so grateful to the following people for their help: Mike DelGaudio for the epic narration (and the RecordThis subreddit for introducing us), Kanarek13 for the beautiful title art sequence and cheerleading, my husband for his support and enthusiasm, Tim DeKay for his time and generosity (and for his gracious support of teamdekay.org) – and of course, Jeff Eastin, Jeff King, and the cast and crew of White Collar.

Okay, enough rambling! Here’s…The White Collar Team!

    1. Thanks so much!

And I agree – I thought this was the most fitting of the epic TV theme songs to pair with our “WC Team.”

Although now that I’ve done this one, I may or may not have a few other ideas kicking around in my head! πŸ˜€ (Suggestions and recommendations welcome – you know my email. πŸ˜‰ )

  1. Awww, this is soooo cool! Thanks for putting it together, and for sharing! πŸ™‚ I need something like this right now. I think I’m still in the denial stage of grief, & I may never get to the acceptance stage. lol. My co-worker said, “It’s just a show”. But it’s not. All of the actors did such an INCREDIBLE job of turning the characters into real people that we’ve come to love, root for and empathize with. That is not an easy thing to do. I hope their talent has been/continues to be recognized & appreciated in the industry.

I already miss them all so much- it’s crazy. I’ve been peeking at tribute videos, but I still haven’t seen the finale yet, & don’t want to get started on another kleenex box. So thanks again..I feel “safe” watching YOUR video, lol.

    1. Thank you – I’m glad you enjoyed it!

And now that you mentioned it, I guess I should have warned people that this is a FUN tribute video (with a respectful nod to James Rebhorn at the end), and not a maudlin one.

I agree about this not being “just a show.” Of all of the ones I’ve watched in my 40 years – and I’ve watched/gotten into a LOT of shows – this is my all-time favorite, by far. It wasn’t just one actor or one character (although I obviously prefer Tim/Peter) – the entire ensemble cast was exceptional together. I think that was proven to be even more true by the fact that they’re such close friends off the set. Their friendship and respect for each other off-screen really came across well on-screen.

As far as their talent being recognized and appreciated, I think it will be. Having a successful six-season show on their resumes has already earned all of them quite a bit of respect and attention, and it can only help them in the future. We know Matt and Tim have several projects lined up, Willie and Tiffani have new shows in the works, Sharif will be on “Sleepy Hollow” soon, Marsha is working on “Safe House,” and Ms. Carroll – well, she’s already a legend. πŸ˜€

      1. Oh, yes. I forgot to mention your nod to James Rebhorn. That was very nice…:) I remembered him from Guiding Light..moons ago. lol.

Yes, I agree that being close friends and an ensemble cast is a large part of what came across on-screen…It’d be awesome if they can all find that kind of chemistry again. It really makes a difference if you can get along with co-workers, lol.

And I like your 3rd paragraph. πŸ™‚ I’m big on artists being appreciated for their talent, and the dedication that they put in to their craft…whether it’s acting, music, etc. Over the years, I’ve learned that sometimes, EXTREMELY gifted people can’t even find work…let alone careers. That always seemed so unfair to me. But it’s the nature of the business, I guess.

It’s great that they all have other projects going on already. I don’t have cable, though, so…Tim, Matt & Willie will need to move to “mainstream” network TV or the BIG screen in order for me to see them. (That’s a hint, guys..:)), ha.

        1. I’m big on artists being respected for their talent as well.

Tim is in talks with Fox, so hopefully mainstream network. Matt’s upcoming projects are all on the big screen. Willie’s show (a remake of “The Courtship of Eddie’s Father”) is supposed to be on Fox.

          1. Oooh. Nice…thanks! πŸ™‚ Although I have to admit, it’ll be weird seeing all of them in different roles now…If we could just get FOX to adopt WC (a girl can dream)..

  2. Thanks for this video, as Josie I’m still in denial stage I can’t believe it’s over and as you ( and I’m older than you hehe!) I saw a lot of tv shows but this one it’s special , sorry I can’t say it was … and all you said about Tim and Matt is true
White Collar entered in my life and involved me in a new world …I never thought that I would make a trip to NY to meet the actors it was completely out of my perspective instead I did it ! and I met new friends and I learnt that exist another world , fanfictions, LJ, etc that I never thought to join in …White Collar changed my life in a better way and I will never forget this…

  3. I wonder how long it’ll take for S6 to come out on DVD. I don’t wait a year- I’m ready NOW! lol.

    Happy New Year’s, everyone. πŸ™‚
